Thoughts on Romeo and Juliet

I've always heard stuff about Romeo and Juliet but I've never read it (to be honest, I've never read anything by Shakespeare...), so I've always been kind of curious about it. When I heard in class that we were going to be reading it, I was happy about it but at the same time like "oh, another book. yay." But so far it's not bad. I mean I feel like I'm having a harder time than everyone else understanding it, like I need a little more time than the rest of the class. Other than that, the characters are all really different and for some of the characters we haven't seen as much so it's harder to get an idea of what they're like, but I think that since everyone is so different that later on either people are going to come together (like Romeo and Juliet, obviously) or their personalities are going to clash.
One thing I was hoping for in Romeo and Juliet that I look for in every story is someone or something to relate to. As of right now, it would probably be the relationship between Juliet and the Nurse. It's always nice to have someone you can turn to besides your mother, and I, like Juliet, have that. Like we discussed in class, Juliet is like the person who just wants to make everyone happy but doesn't exactly know how, and the Nurse I feel like is the one person she doesn't have to try with.
