One thing that I have noticed is when Lady Bracknell asks a series of questions to John, she is asking him things that we wouldn't expect to be asked today, like "Do you smoke?" Or "Do you know everything or nothing?", or we wouldn't even be questioned at all. Researching the Victorian era has helped me understand why they do this.
My overall knowledge of the Victorian era has helped me be able to make connections between real life situations and the things that happen in the story, like what is real and what isn't, and how it's different from today
