The Most Memorable Quote

In the trial, the quote that I found most memorable was made by Scout, one of the characters that I was acting as. It was during Mayella's testimony, one of Scout's narrations; "Apparently Mayella's recital had given her confidence but it was not her father's brash kind: there was something stealthy about hers, like a steady-eyed cat with a twitchy tail."(183) Mayella had been more sad and afraid in the beginning, but as she went on with her story she portrayed herself as if she felt "unstoppable." Atticus believes she is lying, and I think others do to, but usually when people tell a lie that has to be as detailed as Mayella's they don't carry themselves or act as they would when they believe they have convinced someone of their story, and they become more confident, and I believe that's what happened with Mayella.
